When your microphone functions but produces low sound, please choose "Options" and "Advanced Settings". Now click on "Advanced" in the field "microphone" and activate checkbox before "1 microphone amplifier".

Can I connect the Medusa Headset (SL-8790) to an optical sound card output?

The headset cannot be connected to an optical output, as it only has analogue inputs.

Where do I find drivers for my Headset ?
Non-USB Headsets do not require drivers. Please use the configuration of your Soundcard.
USB Drivers can be found here.. USB Drivers

On my Asus A7V8X Motherboard, center and subwoofer signal are mixed up.
Please open AC 97 audio configuration. Activate "Mix up Center/Subwoofer signal".

There is a "buzzing", "beeping" or "clicking" sound coming from the Amplifier.
Another piece of electrical equipment is interfering with the amp. Try turning off other items one by one until you work out which one it is. Usual culprit is a wireless router, infrared mouse transmitter or mobile phone cradle.

Lots of static when used with Creative Break-Out Box
The source of the interference seems to be the cable connecting the sound card to the 5.25 drive bay panel. Whomever found it discovered that by putting his fingers on the connecting cable, static increased or decreased.
Replacing the cable Creative supplied with a non-keyed, shielded IDE cable, eliminates the static completely.

No Sound at all from one speaker, all others work
Check the individual speaker volume settings in the Creative THX panel settings.

Sound output is very distorted.
This is usually caused by having the in-line volume controls on the headset turned down to low and the volume on the amplifier too high to compensate. Please set the in-line controls to at least 6. Windows/Creative volume control should be set to no more than 50%

How do I Reverse Center/Sub
a) Software:- Look for Bass Re-direction or similar wording.

b) Hardware:-
1) Connect Cable A [look at the manual, page 3] to your sound card as usual. Connect the front and rear channels to the amplifier box.
2) Connect the the other end of the sub/center 3.5mm jack plug of Cable A to Cable C.
3) Connect the Cable C with Cable B so that the white RCA connector goes to the red RCA connector and vice versa.
4) Connect the Cable B to the sub/center input of the amplifier box.
